Whitworth Art Gallery

Part of the University of Manchester, the Whitworth was the scene of a curious 2003 case in which three works — by Van Gogh, Picasso, and Gauguin — were stolen, only to be found days later rolled up in a nearby public toilet with a note claiming the point had been 'to highlight the woeful security.'
